Discover Somatic Voicework™ with Its Creator

Join us for a new Somatic Voicework™ webinar series. You will come away with knowledge, skills, and a fresh perspective on the art and science of singing within a nurturing, compassionate, and creative community of professionals.

Our next webinar series, Special Topics In Somatic Voicework™, will be offered on Monday evenings in September and October from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm EDT.  The schedule and titles are as follows:

  • September 14: “Auditory-Perceptual” Awareness: What Exactly Do You Hear?
    • How do you interpret the sounds your student makes? How can you be more accurate in your use of the sound as a way to create effective lessons and encourage functional vocal progress?

  • September 21: Kids – Teens – College Students: What’s Best?
    • Many teachers work with young children and teenagers who want to sing, and also have college age students in a university or in private practice. Is a 10-year-old taught the same way as an 18-year-old? Where does puberty come into play? How do you work with song performance?  Let’s look at this demographic together.

  • September 28: Older Singers and Seniors – Should They Give Up?
    • Traditional vocal pedagogy has little to tell us about working with older singers or seniors. Little research has been done on this population and few books address them. We are on our own for the most part. Watch Jeanie share over 55 years of experience teaching folks who have “been around the block a few times.”

  • October 5: Working In a Team: How and When Is That a Good Thing?
    • How does interacting with a laryngologist and/or a speech language pathologist as part of a voice care team work? If you have not but would like to, where do you begin? This session with include a panel discussion with an MD, a SPL and Jeanie to discuss how partnership is useful for the student/patient/client and the team.

All registered participants will receive a Zoom link for the live webinar, and a playback link to watch afterwards with access for 12 months.
